Stars wish they were in Dorothy's shoes (AP)
Actress Lorraine Bracco gabbed about her love for the classic movie and a good pair of red heels on Thursday night at a New York Fashion Week kickoff party held in Saks Fifth Avenue, which unveiled a new collection of Dorothy-inspired designer heels.
"I own several red shoes, so if you want to consider them slippers that's fine, but I have many of Manolo Blahnik red shoes!" the "Sopranos" star said, laughing heartily.
Which "Wizard of Oz" character would Bracco like to portray?
"My first instinct is to say Toto, but since I got bit by a dog this weekend, I'm not gonna say Toto!" she said, pointing at cuts on her finger.
Instead, she said she'd go with Dorothy "because she goes through this unbelievable journey ...only to come full circle around to realize home is good, family is good."
Lindsay Price, who co-stars with Brooke Shields on NBC's "Lipstick Jungle," said she has a soft spot for the Cowardly Lion, but she'd rather fill Dorothy's shoes.
"She gets the full journey, she learns the lessons she wears the shoes," said Price, wearing platform gold heels and a black Prada dress.
Price said she's also a fan of the gingham pattern on Dorothy's blue-and-white frock and the scene in which the pig-tailed songbird finally returns home to Kansas.
Nigel Barker, who judges alongside Tyra Banks on the CW's "America's Next Top Model," wasn't equipped with a response to the question of "Who's scarier: Tyra or the Wicked Witch of the West?"
"Do I really need to answer that?" he said, smiling.
