"Cloverfield" scares up big DVD business (Reuters)

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - "Cloverfield" enjoyed amonster debut on DVD, topping the U.S. DVD sales and rentalcharts its first week in stores, according to data issuedWednesday.

The sci-fi actioner, which earned more than $80 million atthe North American box office, bumped the previous week's topseller, "Juno," to No. 2 on Nielsen VideoScan's sales chart.

"Charlie Wilson's War," debuted at No. 3, followed at No. 4by "Alvin and the Chipmunks," still a strong seller in itsfourth week in release. Also new was the horror remake "OneMissed Call" at No. 7.

In rental venues, "Cloverfield" generated an estimated $7.5million, according to Home Media Magazine market research. Theprevious week's champ, "Juno," fell to No. 2, earning anadditional $6.9 million. "Charlie Wilson's War" debuted at No.3 with $6.7 million, and "One Missed Call" at No. 7 with $4.7million.

"Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem" was again the top Blu-rayDisc seller for the week, followed by "Juno" and "I Am Legend."
