TV Tidbits: Notes of Interest (Mediaweek.com)

Media Rights Capital, which made a deal with the CW to program the network's troubled Sunday night line-up, has shut down production on scripted dramas Valentine and Easy Money, which debuted on Oct. 5 with barely one million viewers each (and a mere 0.4 rating/1 share among adults 18-49). Both hours are expected, however, to fulfill their initial 13-episode orders.

-Shannen Doherty Extends Stays on 90210:
Shannen Doherty has signed on for two additional episodes of the revival of 90210 on the CW, with the possibility of more. Doherty, who has reprised her role as Brenda Walsh, initially agreed to appear on four episodes. Talks, meanwhile, have apparently stalled between Tori Spelling and the producers about a revival of Spelling's Donna Martin.

-More Gossip Girl:
The CW has extended the episode order of sophomore drama Gossip Girl from 22 to 24, which should be enough to take it through the May sweeps.

-Additional Scripts for NBC's Knight Rider:
NBC has ordered four additional scripts for the recently introduced remake of Knight Rider, which finished third in total viewers (6.86 million) and tied for second (with CBS) among adults 18-49 (2.3 rating/7 share) in the Wednesday 8 p.m. hour in its most recent airing on Oct. 8.

-Executive Shuffle
It is with great pleasure to announce that Lanie Richberger (one of the nicest people in this business) has been named vice president of research for Turner Broadcasting System, Inc.'s Animation, Young Adults and Kids Media (AYAKM) group. The wonderful Lanie will be responsible for managing all aspects of research, including analyzing, organizing and reporting on audience ratings, delivery and user information pertaining to Cartoon Network, Adult Swim, Boomerang, and their on-line businesses and digital enterprises. Lanie's most recent position was leader of the Strategic Trends and Audience Research department for Sesame Workshop. Prior to that, I personally worked with Lanie at Seltel in the programming department. Lanie Richberger...you rock!
