TV Tidbits: Notes of Interest (Mediaweek.com)


Turner Broadcasting and MGM Worldwide Television will be partnering for a new half-hour remake of animated The Pink Panther, which is scheduled to debut on Cartoon Network in fall 2009. Twenty six episodes have been ordered.

-Salma Hayek Heads to 30 Rock:
NBC's Emmy Award winning 30 Rock, which opens season three on Oct. 30, has added another name to the growing list of guest stars: Salma Hayek. Hayek will appear on a recurring basis as Elisa, a new love interest for Jack (Alec Baldwin).

-Executive Shuffle
Susan Kantor has been promoted to the newly created position of Executive Vice President, Marketing for both Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution and Telepictures Productions. In her new role, Kantor will oversee the WBDTD domestic marketing unit responsible for all trade and consumer marketing and advertising campaigns, while continuing to support the sales efforts for WBDTD, Telepictures and Warner Bros. Media Sales.

Sean O'Boyle has been named Executive Vice President, General Sales Manager, NBC Universal Domestic Television Distribution. In his new position, O'Boyle will continue to oversee the daily domestic broadcast sales for NBCU's slate of first-run and off-network syndicated programs, as well as the division's five regional sales offices.
